With a population estimated to be over 70,000,
Rio Rancho is positioning itself to be the hub of commercial, industrial, and economic growth in New Mexico.
Is your company discussing a move to Rio Rancho? Not surprising, because Rio Ranchoans demographically have higher education levels and incomes than most parts of the state (US Census) and Rio Rancho is centrally located for both residents and businesses.
Rio Rancho has been making a thrust to develop the City Centre area, which will open up many of the westerly units for
development opportunities. Among the recent developments in the City Centre are
the newly completed City Hall and retail center (see above), and the
Santa Ana Star Event Center.
Educational opportunities are growing in Rio Rancho as well. A new high school is under construction and scheduled to open in the Fall of 2009.
S.V. Cleveland High School will offer a similar curriculum and style of learning that has made RRPS one of the highest ranking school districts in the state.
Central NM Community College is involved in a joint venture with
UNM to build a Rio Rancho campus in the same area. CNM offers several two-year programs that can stand alone for employment training or can transfer to UNM to continue on to a bachelor's degree in numerous fields.
NM Highlands University also has a campus in Rio Rancho, and is a well-respected and affordable university geared toward teaching, social services, and business.
