The Holiday season is in full swing. The cool air is overflowing with the sweet-smell of cinnamon spiced cakes and buttery Christmas cookies shaped liked ornamented christmas trees and Santa Claus. Shopping centers are flooded with holiday shoppers rushing to fill their loved one’s gift lists. According to the National Retail Federation, a person will spend approximately $804 this year on gifts alone, that of course excludes the cost of food, decorations, and other associated spending.
With the general public watching their budget and avoiding large purchases, Christmas is the best time of the year to purchase a home. And here’s why:
- 1) Low Prices: Home prices are at a 12-month low in December
- 2) Less Competition: there are fewer buyers looking at homes. Hence, the chances of multiple offers is little to none.
- 3) Motivated Seller: If a person has their home on the market over Christmas, you can bet that person is serious about selling their home and open to negotiation. So why not write an offer?
